The EcoSouth mission includes caring for the environment in everything we do and is at the forefront of the way we conduct business.While the eco-movement is only just gaining ground in Southern Africa, EcoSouth have put their principles at the forefront of all their suppliers’ minds. While currently not able to only offer packages based purely on sustainability, EcoSouth have positioned themselves to first and foremost choose accommodation choices based on environmental awareness. We continually question the green credentials of suppliers and push for change so that we can offer eco-friendly choices to our agents.
Sustainable travel is the only way forward for the travel world and EcoSouth are proud to be at the forefront of this new wave of green travel that highlights the beauty of Southern Africa, as well as the frailty of nature should we continue on our current destructive ways.
All of the flagship options available through EcoSouth Travel are based on sustainability, using the finest accommodation choices available in Southern Africa. However due to the nature and size of the environmental movement in Southern Africa, it is not always possible to offer these flagship options. Our eco venues may be booked out or there are simply insufficient eco-venues available to organize a specific tour package.
For example in some areas we may lack eco-venues for conferences due to a lack of choice of venues we believe to be truly environmentally friendly.
In these cases, a portion of the package, be it a conference, safari or otherwise will be donated to future sustainability programs, or may be used to offset a percentage of the carbon emissions of a booking.
While we consistently promote our premium eco-packages, and these are at the forefront of what we work towards, we also design packages according to our agent’s specific wants and needs, which may or may not include environmental packages.
